Dr Agnès Lucas-Schloetter, a senior lecturer and researcher at the Chair for Civil Law, Intellectual Property and Competition Law at the Ludwig-Maximilian University, published an appraisal of the Draft Copyright Directive’s provisions on transfer of value (Recitals 38, 39 and Article 13).
In a letter addressed to MEPs on 6 April, global songwriter and composer groups representing the interests of over 500,000 music creators from North America, South America, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Europe requested a “meaningful and innovative solution” to the issue of transfer of value in the digital marketplace.
Authors from all creative sectors from throughout Europe will be in Brussels on 30 May to meet with the high-level decision makers that are set to influence their day-to-day lives over the next years.
