PRS published its 2015 figures last week, showing a record growth of 7% in revenues and an 8.4% increase in distributions. All revenue streams grew, but online revenues increased by 12.4%, thanks to market growth and improved licensing.
This week, GESAC held the first General Meeting of 2016, where Board elections were held. All board members were re-elected, giving them a clear backing and mandate to continue their work.
The Commission published a full package today, including the Communication on Online Platforms (read GESAC’s position here), as well as legislative proposals on unjustified geo-blocking and on audiovisual media services (AVMSD).
EVA (European Visual Artist), which represents collective management organisations for visual arts, joined CEPIC (Center of the Picture Industry) in its complaint filed against Google Image Search this week. The competition law complaint, filed in November 2013, was already followed by a similar complaint in April of this year by Getty Images.
