Brussels, 25/05/2016 – The European Commission published its communication on online platforms and the Digital Single Market today where it outlines its wider policy perspectives and the principles it plans to follow on addressing any issues regarding online platforms in the Digital Single Market.
Celebrating its 90th anniversary today, CISAC, the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers, was welcomed at the Hôtel de Matignon, the French Prime Minister’s official Residence for a reception. The President of CISAC Jean-Michel Jarre and some 100 invitees, including many internationally-renowned creators from all over the world, were present at this event hosted by French Prime Minister Manuel Valls.
Norwegian authors’ society and GESAC member TONO published its 2015 figures today, revealing some record results:
French authors’ society and GESAC member Sacem signed an unprecedented transatlantic deal last week with Canadian authors’ society SOCAN. With this agreement, Sacem is now mandated to represent SOCAN’s more than 135,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers for administering and collecting towards multi-territorial digital service providers (DSPs) in Europe.
