Streaming music is mainstream in the Nordics
Polaris Nordic, the alliance between Koda in Denmark, Teosto in Finland and Tono in Norway, released their 2015 Nordic Digital Music Survey today. The survey spans four Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden). Here are some of the key findings:
- 58% of 15 to 65 year olds consumed music online from one or more music streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, or Tidal in 2015.
- 64% of respondents agree or strongly agree that music creators should be payed when their music is played on online services
- Radio remains the most often cited source for new music discovery. However, the younger the respondent, the more friends, social media and music streaming services played a role in music discovery.
