GESAC (European Grouping of Societies of Authors and Composers), ECSA (European Composers and Songwriters Alliance), and the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the EU have the pleasure of inviting you to “Meet the Authors” on Wednesday September 24th.
The creative and cultural industries are Europe’s ‘hidden economic secret’ – providing more than 8m jobs and accounting for an impressive 4.5% of European GDP.
In the current climate, it is essential that European policy-makers can recognise this success and ensure that culture and creativity remain at the heart of the region’s economy – fuelling growth, enriching the lives of citizens and providing conditions for the next generation of creative talent to thrive.
On Wednesday September 24th, authors and composers from across Europe, along with CEOs of their collective management societies and other cultural representatives will come together in Brussels at “Meet The Authors” to discuss these issues with Members of the European Parliament, decision-makers from the European Commission and other key representatives of Member States.
The event will provide a unique opportunity for Europe’s diverse creative sector to initiate dialogue with recently-elected policy-makers, and to showcase the importance and dynamism of our community in a relaxed and musical atmosphere – combining a high-level forum with live performances that make art and culture come alive!
