Tribute to Carole Croella

The GESAC community is deeply saddened by the death of Carole Croella.

An invaluable expert on intellectual property, Carole Croella worked in the European Commission’s Copyright Unit before moving on to the WIPO, where she was a senior counsellor at the Copyright Law Division.

In both roles she worked closely with GESAC for a number of decades and will be remembered as a dedicated colleague who understood the importance of collective management and cared deeply for the wellbeing of the cultural sector.

GESAC General Manager Véronique Desbrosses said: “This is a tremendous loss for our community. As well as one of the foremost experts in our field, Carole was a warm and friendly person and a close friend to many of us who had the pleasure of working with her. The GESAC community’s thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.”
