Article 17 consultation: our submission

An unqualified success of the Copyright Directive, in its adopted form, was the careful balance it struck between freedom of expression, access to content and authors’ right.
The guidelines should crystalise the original aims of the Directive and set out a clear path to their attainment, however in its current form, the guidelines document proposes several points that contradict the spirit of Article 17 to the detriment of authors and rightsholders.
